Sugar painting:                           
Augmenting traditional handicrafts in real life

Sugar painting is an improvised craft, and the process of making it is also included in the value of the candy. Augmented reality is a great medium to involve people in the sugar making process, help to bring sugar paintings back into the urban world.

Design Brief

With the process of urbanization, the artisans who used to appear on the street have to move to the tourist spots nowadays, which makes sugar painting gradually far away from our daily life. With service design thinking, I redesign the stalls of these artisans, through which I hope to bring sugar painting back to our life.

1. Branding

Show character that sugarpainting can make in oder, and the raw material is pure nutural. It also has a long history.

Scan it and there will be a software for introduction the history and make sugarpainting in order.

3. Decoration

Decorate appearance of the boxes for tools storage. The Frosted glass layers with dried wheat inside can better show the nature of ingredients and materials.
